Golfers
Low back, trail shoulder, lead-hip, or elbow pain in the swing. A golf-specific movement screen and a PT plan — not another swing thought.

Physical Therapy & Sports Performance
We use physical therapy to address pain, improve movement, and help you return to what you love to do. Performance training helps you perform at the highest level by improving mechanics, increasing power, and training the body so you can reach your goals.
Dr. Ben Graves, PT, DPT, CSCS, BRM
Physical therapy, golf rehab, and sports performance training in Sonora and San Angelo, Texas
Mission
Our mission is to get you performing at the highest level without pain, as quickly as possible. We aim to improve mechanics and body awareness rapidly while giving you confidence in your performance. We strive for your long-term success by giving you the tools and know-how to maintain your improvements, instead of relying on us. The key to continued success is accountability. The small, repeated efforts applied between visits and after them lead to the greatest improvements. We do not want to make you a lifelong patient; instead, we want to make you a lifelong mover.
Who this is for

Low back, trail shoulder, lead-hip, or elbow pain in the swing. A golf-specific movement screen and a PT plan — not another swing thought.

Return-to-play and loaded-movement rehab. CSCS programming and Barbell Rehab Method so you keep training while the tissue calms down.

Spine, shoulder, hip, knee, and post-op care from a licensed DPT. Hands-on treatment plus a plan you can do between visits.
Two services
Graves Performance Therapy isn't only physical therapy. Decide which service fits your needs and we will help to determine which will benefit you most and make plans going forward.
Licensed medical care
Evaluation and treatment for pain, injury, post-op, and return-to-play. A Doctor of Physical Therapy licensed in Texas conducts the evaluations and performs all treatment sessions. He provides a specific, detailed analysis of the deficits and develops a plan to address the problems, establishing a foundation of movement patterns that help you achieve your goals and maintain progress.
Athletic conditioning — not PT
CSCS-level training for golf, field, court, and the weight room. Built to add speed, power, and durability when you are not in a course of physical therapy.

Private visits
Cash-based one-on-one on the course, court, or field. Book physical therapy or sports performance training as separate services. Private physical therapy may be by Texas Direct Access (up to 30 consecutive calendar days without a physician referral) or by physician referral. Either way, private visits are cash-based. Graves Performance Therapy, PLLC does not bill insurance for services provided. Sports performance training is athletic conditioning, not physical therapy and not medical treatment. No physician referral and no Texas Direct Access paperwork. San Angelo adds a $20 travel fee.
Graves Performance Therapy, PLLC does not enroll with or bill Medicare for outpatient physical therapy. Medicare rules for physical therapists differ from physician “opt-out” rules. If you are a Medicare beneficiary, do not book online. Contact us first at [email protected] so we can determine whether any requested service is appropriate to schedule and how federal rules apply. Sports performance training is athletic conditioning and is not billed as physical therapy. After a cash physical therapy visit you can request a superbill and choose to submit it to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Superbills are for PT visits only. Bundled visit packages are available. Specifics are discussed with Ben directly.
